Picky Dog who loves SMACK

"My mini poodle is very picky and after many brands I have tried, SMACK is the only food she will eat. She has more energy now, her digestion and output is much better and I am no longer struggling to get her to eat. Thank you for making this great product."

Percy was in congestive heart

"Percy was in congestive heart failure and had no appetite. He was losing weight even though we were offering hin everything we could think of--raw fish, cooked chicken, raw or cooked pork, beef, eggs, liver, Smack. One day he would choose one food only to turn his nose up at it a day later. Smack Very Berry Chicken was the only thing he would eat consistently. He is on new meds now and doing better. He has regained weight and is eating--eagerly even sometimes. And Smack remains a favourite!"

Love it so much!

"My dog is a picky eater, and this is the only food that has been working so far! Thanks, Canada, for producing such a fantastic brand. Also, I was at a pet store today, and they told me this one is very nutritious."

Wouldn't be without our SMACK !!

"My two dogs (Golden Retriever and Afghan Hound) love this recipe! They have it every morning for breakfast, which is easier than feeding thawed frozen raw food so early, and on the very occasional morning when one of them is not hungry, I can put it back into the storage bin - no waste! I also like that, if I had to travel somewhere overnight, it is easier to take with us than their frozen raw, and there would be no complaints - just happy crunching! :) Your customer service is also wonderful!!!"

My dogs love this food . Customer service is 100%

"I don’t like that Canadian’s pay 140. 00 per bag and the Americans only pay 120. 00 Yet this is made and shipped in Canada . Should be the other way around , especially with the new tariffs."

Great food, hit with 3 Tibetan Terriers!

"So let me start by saying the ingredients in the food are wonderful! My picky Tibetan Terriers actually prefer this over their home cooked meals. . . lol! I wish their was a little less fat in the Very Berry Chicken so I could feed my 10 year old senior Bailey as a meal. . . but she needs to lose weight. So, the food itself was absolutely a winner! Two things I wish were a little better: price, even though I know quality ingredients come at a cost, I wish I could afford to feed this to all three as a meal. The other is shipping, it is sent USPS, so it took a long while for it to get here. Other than those two things. . . . great product! We are trying the Salmon next, which has a little less fat, so hopefully it is a hit too!"

Chicken reaction?

"Having said this. She has become itchy and is licking her paws a lot so I think I’ll switch back to lamb. Just concerned about the high fat content. My other dog can’t eat chicken it makes her anxiety way worse."

Q&A

I have a 15 lb average activity Lhasa Apso. You indicated that 1 cup has 100 gr. According to the feeding guide, I would start feeding him approximately 1/2 cup a day. This would equal 240 calories. Is this too low or a good starting point.
Thank you for your question, Christie! Our feeding guidelines will be generalized, with basic factors like age, weight and activity level taken into consideration. Depending on pet, breed, metabolism, treats/other food fed throughout the day and much more may all cause variance with what we'd recommend feeding, and what may work for some, may not work for all. Each recipe will have their kcal/cup (100g) amounts listed underneath the 'Guaranteed Analysis' section that you may use to calculate exact feeding amounts for your unique pup. A quick Google search or a visit to your pups trusted vet can help determine how many calories they require daily, and this can be used to get a much more accurate feeding amount calculated.
You say there is 100 grams per cup. My 15 lb dog can have so little per day. I divide this by 3 servings. I think she is starving. Its so little, one bite. Is she getting all she needs. Please tell me how many grams in a day should a less active 15 lb dog be getting.
Great question, Di! For a less active, 15 lb pup, we would suggest feeding approximately 1/2 cup of food, or 50g per day. If fed multiple times per day, you can divide this number accordingly. For some pets - especially on a dehydrated, filler-free, nutrient dense diet like Smack, the adjusted feeding amounts can take some time to adjust to. Please know that they are receiving everything nutritionally required to thrive and live their best lives. To put things into perspective, over 20 lbs of bone in meats, organs and organic, non-GMO botanicals are contained in each large bag that we produce, which means a little goes a really long way.
I just bought my 1st bag. Where is the B vitamins. No egg fo b12. Also omegas. I have a shitsu. Omega is good for her skin and hair. Thank you
Hi Diana! B vitamins and Omegas will naturally be contained within the superfood ingredients and proteins that we include in our recipes!
How many cups of food does the largest bag have in it?
Hi there! There are 25 cups in the 5.5lbs (2.5kg) bags. The weighted measurement for Smack is 100g per cup.
Hey there! I’m wondering about the taurine level in these foods. Is there added taurine?
Hi Emily, thank you for your question. All of our taurine comes from our bone-in meats, as well as the organs that are included in our recipes. The amount for dogs, as well as their respective recipe can be found listed below for your reference. Due to the natural state of our ingredients, there will be variances between recipes, so the percentages listed below are the minimum amount of taurine that will be contained in each bag of Smack: Prairie Harvest Pork 0.22% Caribbean-Salmon Fusion 0.29% Rockin' Rockfish 0.23% Chunky Chicken 0.23% Very Berry Chicken 0.26%
